Messy church webMESSY CHURCH

Messy Church is a fun way for all the family to find out more about Jesus. Using a mixture of crafts, games and drama to bring to life biblical stories that explain the life of Jesus, Messy Church meets twice a month on the second and fourth Sunday. The name and inspiration for much of what we do is derived from www.messychurch.org.uk.

Messy Church is all about exploring the Bible through:

*  creativity (including a range of craft activities)
*  celebration
*  eating together
*  all in an all-age context

Messy Church WEB1Messy Church involves the whole family – it’s not just something that is geared towards the children.

Children love Messy Church because it makes learning about Jesus fun and interesting. Adults enjoy Messy Church because it allows them to be creative and explore their own relationship with Jesus in a relaxed and inclusive environment.

Messy Church 2A typical meeting usually starts with a range of different crafts and activities that allow participants to be creative and messy in equal measure. Everything is based around the Bible story or theme for that morning. Craft time is followed by an all important break for food and drink. After refreshments we clear a space and enjoy a lively time of worship. This leads into a bible story that we explore with the help of Jabber the hand puppet and mini dramas. We conclude with a brief time of prayer where we encourage one another to hear and apply what Jesus is saying to us.

Whether you already know Jesus or simply want to find out more in a relaxed and informal environment, you are very welcome to join us at Messy Church. For those who don't feel particularly creative there is plenty of opportunity to down a hot beverage and just chat. Come and join the fun and get messy!
