I am on a mission to discover the stories of each one of us in this church. I am asking 5 simple questions which are:-

1. Was there a time in your life when you didn’t believe in God?

2. When did that change and how did it happen?

3. What difference did it make and how has it affected your choices and decisions since?

4. Do you have a story of healing or an answer for a difficult situation?

1. I grew up in a Catholic family so I had always heard about God and Jesus, although it was a bit like brain-washing! I thought if there is a heaven-BIG if, then I’m definitely getting in because I’ve been stamped with the catholic stamp, I had the golden ticket to enter heaven!

2. At drama school I met Esther, a full-on believer, who was different to everyone else. She would come to the pub and be one of us without slagging everyone else off-which at drama school is completely unheard of. She was so positive. God didn’t mean much to me but He seemed real to her. She took me to church and we prayed for each other and I began to realize that He was listening to me. My problem with Jesus always used to be that my mum would die for me so what’s the big deal? Then one day I was having a chat with Esther and she said that Jesus had gone to Hell for three days after he’d died, to pay for my sins, well that was it…I was terrified of Hell, and I realized that not even my mum would have done that for me!!

3.It changed everything and I became a new person. I had been neurotic and too bothered by others’ opinions. I felt like my own person for the first time. I was the youngest of 3 girls and had never felt my own person before. I would probably never have married nor had children as I was so uncertain of myself and incapable of making my own decisions.

4.When getting married to Rob I wanted a band but couldn’t afford it. That night, stressed, I said God will have to provide or we just won’t have anything. Later that evening, a friend gave me the exact money we needed for the band we loved, which she felt God had told her to give us.

Also, Rob, my then boyfriend, came to SWLV with me and declared that he would never become a Christian. I was devastated. Then he was posted with the army to the Falklands and I prayed. He came back changed.

5. I am a creative person and I love dancing and acting. I also love people, can’t get enough of them!!! My 5 fold gifting is Pastor/Prophet.
