MOANING
I would like to ban moaning. It is, unfortunately, a British national pastime. We get so used to it that we hardly notice it any more. King David moaned a lot in the psalms but he always ended up with a heartfelt prayer, further trust in God or an attitude of praise when he realised the bigger picture.
When I find myself moaning I think of that and it really helps. There will always be something in this life to get us moaning but if we live in that place it will become a habit and will rob us of joy, purpose, gratitude and faith. In the Old Testament the children of God got into real trouble over it. I don’t know about you but I want to reach the “promised land”. Have a look at Romans Chapter 12 verses I & 2 for a New Testament “picture” of the promised land.
