Patsy's Piece

We followers of Jesus often say, "He changed our lives". I was mulling over this recently and realised that what really happens is that "He changes US". I well remember it happening to me. I couldn't have put words to the experience at the time but the teenage girl that walked to school in the usual straggling rag tag group was one day very different to the day before. 15th and 16th of June 1961 to be precise. I once heard it described like this:- We are like light bublbs that come alight when in contact with electricity". Like all similes to capture spiritual truth it is imperfect. Expressions such as "became a christian", "saw the light", "born again" and "saved" are the same. What really matters is has it happened to us and do we know we are different because of it? Whether it's a day we can recall or a process over a period of time doesn't matter. As a friend once said, "Someone is responsible for my changed life".
So, thankyou Jesus, for the changes you have made in us be it years ago or yesterday.
