Jesus Ministry
We will be meeting together regularly to review the progress of Jesus Ministry in North London Vineyard and pray for each other using the freedom prayer model
The purpose of these meetings is to:
· Review the progress of Jesus Ministry within NLVC and consider how to further it
· Get further/deeper into Jesus Ministry as individuals
· Pray and hear from God for each other
· Seek God for revelation and wisdom about corporate-level original design and strongholds (i.e. affecting NLVC as a whole rather than just individuals)
Glossary for those unfamiliar with Jesus Ministry (translation from JM-speak into English):
· Jesus Ministry: to quote from the website managed by Mike & Cindy Riches, who introduced us to this, “our mission, as Jesus’ church, is to continue the ministry that he had on earth and to bring restoration in the same ways that he did”. Major components of how we do Jesus Ministry are (a) teaching contained in the Living Free course which we run from time to time, and (b) a prayer model which we follow in Freedom Prayer sessions
· Freedom Prayer: a model which we follow in which a small team (usually about three people) seek to hear from God on behalf of an individual (a) how God originally designed him/her to be in his/her personality, abilities and callings, and (b) what hindrances there may be in him/her which would obstruct the expression of that original design in his/her life; in which the individual repents of the latter in order more fully to express the former in his/her life, and in which the prayer team pray for and encourage him/her. · original design: how God originally designed us to be – our individual character, personality, gifting, interests, etc. by which we reflect God’s character;
· strongholds: beliefs, thought-patterns, attitudes, values and behaviours which are persistent, deeply-rooted and sinful, which oppose God’s truth and which get in the way of God’s original design expressing itself through us; in order to pull down strongholds we need to repent of those wrong beliefs, attitudes, behaviours, etc., to grant forgiveness as appropriate to those who have wronged and damaged us, and to receive forgiveness from God.
