FORGIVENESS

At the end of the last Prison Fellowship Course I am in involved in at Holloway Prison this poem was written and read out by one of the girls in my group.



Forgiveness is hope for change

It is a door to peace and happiness

Forgiveness is a deliberate choice of heart

It is love practiced among people who love poorly



Forgiveness is light – see it

Forgiveness is a battle – win it

Forgiveness is hard – break through it

Forgiveness is a task – achieve it

Forgiveness is wealth – enrich yourself with it

Forgiveness is like a song – sing it

Forgiveness is a prison sentence – finish it

Forgiveness is challenging – conquer it

Forgiveness is like a story book – read it

Forgiveness is eternal – it sets us free

Without wanting anything in return.
