Martyina's Story

Was there a time when you didn’t believe in God?

Yes. I turned to drugs and alcohol because I didn’t care what happened to my life. My family doesn’t believe in God.

When did that change and how did it happen?

 
Last summer at Soul Survivor camp. At the first evening meeting one of the guys said, “Does anyone want to give their lives to Jesus before we start the week?” I got up not quite realising what I was doing and walked to the front with loads of other people. We were prayed for and it involved a lot of tears. I felt amazing – as though a whole weight was lifted off me. Everything changed. I stopped drinking, taking drugs, being a rebellious teenager and was able to hear God’s voice.

What difference did it make and how has it affected your choices and decisions since?

Before this happened I wasn’t thinking about the future or what I wanted to do. I was just living from day to day in a boring existence. Now I am happy as can be doing what I love which is training to be a hairdresser. New customers always welcome!!

Do you have a story of healing or an answer to prayer for a difficult situation?

 
I’m still a beginner but God has looked after me.

What has God gifted you in?

I haven’t found out yet but I want to.
